Longterm Effort & Homestasis

The work it takes to get the ball rolling, is not the work it takes to keep the ball stable.

What does that mean? The body loves homeostasis.

That word in laymen’s terms means “stable, consistent.” The human body resists change! This makes it difficult for those looking to improve, end years of bad habits, lose weight, etc. But this is excellent for those that are in shape, near weight goals, performance goals etc.

The amount of effort to MAINTAIN is NOT the amount needed to move the needle. For you to make progress and dig yourself out of years of bad habits, it might take consistent effort 5-7 days a week.

But the good news is that once you get there, it won’t take that amount of time to stay there! The body resists change either direction. If you are seeking big change, realize it will take more effort to get there than it will once you arrive ✅
